Financing

The Economic Development Corporation of Oxnard (EDCO) is offering tax-exempt Industrial Development Bonds (IDBs) to manufacturing businesses. IDBs are tax-exempt securities issued by a government entity that provides money for the acquisition, construction, rehabilitation and equipping of manufacturing and processing facilities for private companies. IDBs allow private sector companies to borrow at the low interest rates normally reserved for state and local government entities. Unlike other government incentive programs, IDBs are relatively simple to apply and qualify for. The annualized cost for most borrowers is 20% - 30% below conventional financing alternatives.

Permit Assistance

From start to finish, EDCO can help steer a course through the City's permit requirements, with services such as:

  • Informal "trial balloon" inquiries with City for acceptance of specific uses at specific sites, before a company has to commit to any one site.
  • Site/facility search.
  • Formal introductions at City Hall to key staff whose cooperation will be needed to get a project through the system.
  • Free estimates of City fees associated with a project.
  • Processing and delivery of occupancy certificate and business license at project completion.
  • A helping hand with problems/issues as they may arise through the process
